Add Ovels to a server you manage without granting more than it needs, then confirm the install actually worked before you configure anything.

You need the Manage Server permission in the target server to complete the invite. Discord will show a permission list — review it, then authorize.

The invite requests two OAuth scopes: bot, so Ovels can actually join and act in the server, and applications.commands, so its slash commands register there. Both are required — without applications.commands, slash commands never appear in Discord's command picker even though the bot is present.
The requested permission set covers what Ovels' features can use across moderation, tickets, voice, and channel management. You can review or narrow these afterward in Discord's own Server Settings → Integrations → Ovels — just be aware that removing a permission there will make any feature depending on it fail silently in Discord rather than error loudly, so only trim what you're sure you won't use.
Check the bot's role
Open Server Settings → Roles and find the role Discord created for Ovels. Its position in that list determines what it can act on — see permissions and role hierarchy for exactly how that works and why it's the single most common setup mistake.
Validate your first change
Open the dashboard, select your server, and make one small, reversible change — for example setting the mod-log channel. Save it, reload the page, and confirm it stuck. That single loop (change → save → reload → confirm) is worth doing before you touch anything with real consequences, like moderation punishments or auto-moderation filters.
