This Privacy Policy explains how Ishan Jaiswal ("we", "us", "our", "the Owner"), the independent individual operator of the Ovels Discord bot and its companion dashboard/wiki website (together, the "Service"), collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you add Ovels to a Discord server, interact with it, or use the dashboard. It applies to everyone who uses the Service: server owners, administrators, moderators, and regular members.
By using the Service in any way, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. If you do not agree with it, you must stop using the Service and remove Ovels from any server you control.
We collect only what is reasonably necessary to operate the Service:
We do not collect payment card details, government identifiers, precise location data, or biometric data. We do not read direct messages outside of what Discord's API exposes for bot-initiated interactions (e.g. ticket transcripts you asked the bot to create).
We use collected data strictly to: operate and maintain bot features you or your server enabled; authenticate and authorize dashboard access; enforce automod and moderation settings you configured; display server-facing statistics (member counts, uptime); diagnose and fix bugs; and prevent abuse of the Service. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not build cross-server behavioral profiles for commercial purposes.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to third parties. Limited data is shared only with service providers strictly necessary to run the Service, each acting as a data processor under our instructions:
We may also disclose data if required to do so by law, court order, or valid legal process, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of the Owner, users, or the public.
Guild configuration and moderation records are retained for as long as Ovels remains in a server, so the server's settings and audit history stay intact. Removing Ovels from a server, or requesting deletion via the contact details below or the support server, will result in that server's stored configuration and associated records being deleted from active systems within a reasonable period, subject to routine backup rotation. Dashboard sessions expire automatically and are purged on logout or expiry.
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures — access controls, encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), and scoped credentials — to protect stored data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your own Discord account credentials secure; we are not liable for unauthorized access resulting from a compromised Discord account, browser, or device that is not itself a failure of our systems.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise these rights by contacting us using the details in Section 14. Server administrators can remove Ovels at any time to stop data collection for that server; individual members can ask a server's moderators to action Discord-side removal, or contact us directly regarding their own account data.
The Service is intended for use in accordance with Discord's own Terms of Service, which require users to meet Discord's minimum age requirement. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals below that age beyond what Discord's platform itself exposes to any bot operating on a server. If you believe a child's data has been collected in violation of this, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
The dashboard uses a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you signed in after authenticating via Discord OAuth2. This cookie is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. No third-party advertising or analytics cookies are set by the Service.
The Owner operates from India, and infrastructure providers used to run the Service may process or store data in other countries. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on the standard contractual and security safeguards offered by our infrastructure and processor providers.
The Service is currently free. We may in the future introduce optional paid tiers or add-ons (for example, additional customization). Should that happen, any payment processing will be handled by a dedicated third-party payment processor, and we will not directly store full payment card details on our own systems. This Privacy Policy will be updated in advance to describe exactly what additional data, if any, such features would involve, and continued free-tier use will not require payment information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, legal requirements, or our practices. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected on this page; continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
This Privacy Policy is governed by, and interpreted in accordance with, the laws of India. See Section 16 of the Terms of Service for the full governing-law and jurisdiction clause, which applies equally to this Policy.
